![]() ![]() This blog post will focus solely on reducing unnecessary disk I/O caused by Endpoint Protection (when it scans for viruses and malware) in System Center Configuration Manager. Since disk I/O is the number one killer of VM performance, anything to reduce it is a good thing! This explains why you will see pauses in your server/application when it is stuck waiting. In most cases, the server/application is doing nothing. A disk queue length of one or more means that there’s a bottleneck every time the server/application tries to access the disks.
